The new school year brings thoughts of change. As schedules shift, kids go back to class, new programs start, and summer fades to fall (unless you live in Florida), your mind may be set on new goals. Or, you might be inspired to create changes for your spiritual, mental, and emotional health. Whatever your aim is, let these words be a reminder to switch to God’s metric of success.
God’s Metric of Success
Success is faithfulness in the small things.
Success is obedience in the hard things.
Success is enduring that next trial.
Success is remaining pliable in the Potter’s hand, even when His wheel spins fast.
Success is surrendering and re-surrendering to God’s way every single day.
Success is deciding to get back up one more time because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Dear reader, fiercely refuse to measure success like the world does.
Refuse to measure your success in light of someone else. Refuse with everything inside of you to continue measuring yourself based on anything other than what God says in His word.
Where is He leading you? What is He calling you to do? How is he refining and reshaping you? Are you listening? Are you responding?
Is your fire burning out or is it burning bright? Because chasing success measured by man’s metric will burn you out. But pursuing a successful life based on God’s metric will light you up.
Make the switch to God’s metric, friend. Your journey will be filled with more joy because you aren’t burdened by ever-changing earthly expectations.
Seek God’s perspective, switch to His system, and see fruit come forth.
With Love,
Audra
So true. It's back to the audience of One, right? What's done for Jesus in the "darkroom" (thanks, Biblical Man!), will be developed and displayed for all to see in the light of Heaven's glory!
Love this, Audra.
I often tell my friends and congregation that when we die and see our Lord in glory, He will not say to us, "well done, good and successful servant." But rather, He will say, "well done, good and faithful servant."
Thank you for this reminder to me this evening. Appreciate your words, as always!
