"Don't get your hopes up."
When was the last time you told yourself that?
Dear reader, have you been living in the land of low hope for too long?
I've been there, too.
Not hoping for much because I was afraid of being let down. Not wanting to get my hopes up because I was afraid of feeling ashamed or silly if things didn't work out.
Yes, life has let me down on more than one occasion. But even in my disappointments, God has never let me down.
I want to remind you today that you can adjust expectations without losing hope. Yes, adjust when needed, but keep your hopes up high in the Lord.
The Bible says our hope in Him never disappoints or puts us to shame.
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:5 NIV
Even though circumstances might not always meet our expectations, God always exceeds them. His presence and provision is more than enough— in ALL circumstances.
Adjust expectations when you need to, but keep your hopes up high in the living God who sees you and cares for you.
Are you low on hope today? You can ask Him to fill you with hope poured out by His Spirit. Yes, you can ask your Heavenly Father to stir up your faith, hope, and love.
He did it for me, and He will do it for you.
It’s time, dear one. Let hope come out and play.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 NIV
With Love,
Audra

Keep Calm and Carry On
What do you do when you don’t know what to do? What do you do when God seems silent? What do you do when doors are closed and dreams are delayed? I remember a time in my life where God seemed silent. I felt like I was moving in slow motion. Here are the words I wrote in my journal during that time:
Meeting God on the Front Porch
Friend, God longs to connect with our hearts. He longs to speak to us. He longs to linger with us on sunny, sandy porches as we go about our morning. He longs to connect with us as we bathe in sunlight and fresh tears fall. He created us to flow and move with His heart- our Father’s heart.
There is Peace in God's Pace
God wants us to be fully present. Perhaps less multi-tasking and more focusing on the task at hand. Perhaps less worrying about how many minutes we have in our day and more concerned with finding God in those moments He has planned for us. Perhaps there’s a better way- stillness.
